Questions families ask
Do I need to belong to a co-op?
No. Gatherings works for families who homeschool on their own. If you join or start a group later, it's all in the same place.
Is it really free?
Yes, including courses built on OpenStax's free, open textbooks. There are no ads, and nothing about you is sold.
Can my students have their own accounts?
Teens can have their own sign-in, invited and controlled by a parent. Children under 13 never get accounts; they use a PIN-locked Student mode on a parent's device.
What can other families see about my children?
Members of your groups see a child's first name and the round photo you add, if you add one. Birthdays are only shared if you choose to share them.
Does Gatherings file my state paperwork for me?
No. It keeps a checklist, sends reminders and links to your state's official forms, so you can file with confidence. It isn't legal advice.
Our group uses BAND. Can we move over?
Yes. Import your upcoming events from BAND, Google Calendar or Facebook in one go, then invite your families with a link.
Is there an app to install?
Gatherings works in any browser. On a phone you can add it to your home screen, and turn on notifications.
